It seems that the two are effectively identical - the smaller batch could be mentioned in the introduction and in a sub setion.
I think it's quite normal to treate very similar models that differ only by a change of operator under the same article. (if they are operated in the same country) Minor technical differences could be discused in the resultant article and I note that both articles are short.

Possible change to the title of this article
[edit]This article is currently named in accordance the Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Railways naming conventions for British rolling stock allocated a TOPS number.
